Fertility Friends
Infertility can be a very lonely journey. Many people find it difficult to discuss infertility with family and friends. Even if one has a spouse with whom to share this experience, it is important to reach beyond this unit.
Having a peer and confidante who has experienced a similar diagnosis provides much needed support through this journey. This friendship allows one to share their experience with another individual who understands the pressures, tensions and emotional upheaval imposed by infertility. Fertility Friends was established to provide this support.
Fertility Friends pairs people based on diagnosis, medical history, age and personality preferences. These peer mentors become someone dealing with infertility can openly talk to and rely on. They provide individualized support at a time when it’s most needed.
Fertility Friends is under the direction of Dr. Talia Hindin, a licensed clinical psychologist. All peer mentors are vetted and trained. Once a pair is made, each member receives guidelines to ensure privacy and success. Dr. Hindin and Yesh Tikva team provide ongoing oversight through follow up conversations with each pair to make sure that all their needs are met.

“After being introduced to my peer mentor and participating in a couple of secondary infertility group sessions I now have the courage and support to move forward with fertility treatment.” – Rebecca G
