Kallah Teacher Workshop

February 11 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am PST
Free

Infertility touches many individuals and couples, yet it is often experienced in silence. For a kallah or young woman, this journey can bring feelings of grief, confusion, shame, or isolation, especially when expectations around marriage and family feel so strong. As kallah teachers, we hold a uniquely meaningful role. We are often trusted guides during a formative and vulnerable stage of life, and clients may turn to us with questions, emotions, or hints of struggle long before they have clarity or words for what they are experiencing. This workshop is designed to gently support kallah teachers in approaching conversations about infertility with greater confidence, compassion, and care. Together, we will explore how infertility can affect emotional well-being, relationships, self-identity, and spiritual life, and how these experiences may surface during kallah preparation or beyond. Through guided conversation and practical examples, participants will learn to:

  • Recognize how infertility may show up in questions, concerns, or emotional responses
  • Identify common assumptions or messages that, even unintentionally, can deepen pain
  • Use language that validates and honors a client’s experience while staying within appropriate boundaries
  • Listen with presence and empathy, without feeling pressure to “fix” or advise
  • Understand when and how to gently connect clients with additional supports and resources

This workshop aims to empower kallah teachers to hold space with sensitivity and strength, reduce stigma, and foster conversations that help clients feel seen, supported, and less alone even in moments filled with uncertainty.
