Volunteer

We would love for you to become part of Yesh Tikva!

Our mission is two-fold: to provide psychosocial resources and tools to those struggling with infertility and to raise awareness of infertility throughout the Jewish community. We welcome caring individuals – whether or not you or a loved one has been touched by infertility – to become a Yesh Tikva volunteer.

Yesh Tikva has numerous volunteering opportunities for you to consider. We welcome your help and time to assist individuals and couples facing infertility and family building, while raising sensitivity throughout the Jewish community.

You can start by joining the conversation. Follow us on social media, like, comment, share and participate in giving infertility a voice. Facebook, Instagram, YouTube

Whatever you do best, there’s a place here to share your gifts and uplift those facing infertility and family building.

Appreciation Crew – Support Fundraising Efforts

Yesh Tikva provides resources, tools, and psychosocial services for individuals and couples experiencing infertility and family building – and donors ensure our services are always free! As a Thanker volunteer, you will let us know which day or two during the month that you would like to reach out by phone or handwritten note to share a heartfelt thanks to donors.

Infertility Awareness Shabbat – Host and Raise Awareness

Passover is a holiday with a strong focus on children. The Torah charges us to “tell your children (Exodus 13:8)” of the great miracles of the Exodus. So much of what we do on Seder night is “so that the children will ask.” But what about those who have not yet been blessed with children? Partner with us in garnering the support of your synagogue and friends to participate in our next Infertility Awareness Shabbat.

Peer Mentors - Provide Support

Peer mentors are individuals who have been on the journey themselves. We then match peer mentor volunteers with a current Yesh Tikva participant. Our process is specific to offer the best experience and outcome for the person experiencing infertility.

All peer mentors must go through the required online training.

Storyteller – Raise Awareness and Reduce Stigma

Do you have a story to share? You may be a warrior, a family member, or a community leader. Many are hesitant to reach out for help or are overwhelmed with navigating the process. We welcome Storyteller volunteers who help normalize the infertility experience.

InfertiliTEA Host – Host a Small Awareness Event

Prior to the pandemic, volunteers hosted a gathering in their homes to support those in their community facing infertility. Today, it is even easier to invite friends and host an InfertiliTEA on your favorite video platform. An InfertiliTEA is a one hour social event with an interactive talk and in which tools are shared on how to better support those facing infertility and hear personal stories of individuals in your community facing infertility.
