Infertility Awareness Shabbat Kickoff & Info Session

Yesh Tikva provides compassionate, Jewishly-grounded emotional support, education, and community for individuals and couples navigating infertility and complex family-building journeys. We work to reduce isolation, raise awareness, and ensure that no one in the Jewish community has to face these experiences alone.
This session explores how Jewish leaders can foster inclusion, awareness, and support for those navigating infertility in beginning with an Infertility Awareness Shabbat (IAS).
This kickoff info session is designed specifically for synagogue professionals and staff: rabbis, clergy, educators, administrators, engagement professionals, and program staff. You all play a vital role in shaping communal culture, language, and care.
During this session, the team from Yesh Tikva will walk through:
- What Infertility Awareness Shabbat is.
- Why infertility awareness matters in synagogue life (even if no one has “come forward”)
- The emotional and communal impact of infertility across life stages
- How IAS can easily be implemented in ways that are thoughtful, trauma-informed, and aligned with your community’s culture
- What staff need to know to support congregants before, during, and after IAS
This event is not about asking staff to be experts in infertility, Jewish law, or medical care. It is about building shared language, awareness, and confidence—so that no one navigating infertility feels alone in Jewish space.
There is no expectation of personal disclosure. Questions are welcome. Curiosity is encouraged.
Whether your synagogue is hosting a full IAS program or simply wants to better support congregants navigating family-building challenges, this session offers grounding, clarity, and practical guidance.
