The infertility struggles of our Jewish matriarchs, patriarchs, and ancestors are detailed throughout our sacred texts. Alongside the resounding stories of Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, and Hannah are the quieter journeys of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Elkanah, and others whose experiences of uncertainty and longing are less fully told. We know that throughout history and into the present, many stories of fertility and family-building journeys are not a matter of public record nor are they always treated with the respect they deserve.

The Jewish community is a vibrant, flourishing and growing one. Throughout the year our traditions and holidays revolve around family and especially children. During those beautiful moments, Yesh Tikva’s “Fertility Prayer” is an opportunity to welcome, acknowledge, embrace, and support those still struggling to grow families of their own.
